Manuel Antonio National Park

The #1 most popular Costa Rican destination for a good reason. A must-visit, located about an hour and 15 minutes from the wedding area. This park boasts stunning beaches, lush rainforest, diverse wildlife (sloths, monkeys, various birds), and excellent hiking trails. It is worth a full day!

Location

The entry fee for foreigners is $16-18 USD (plus tax) and must be purchased online here.

The park is open from 7am-4pm every day but Tuesdays. We recommend visiting on a week day to avoid the crowds.

Jacó Beach

Vibrant beach town with beginner-level waves perfect for a surfing lesson or just to unwind on a lively beach. Located only 20 min away from the wedding area, Jacó Beach offers a diverse range of restaurants, bars and clubs if you are "looking to check out the local nightlife."

Tortuga Island Cruise

Tortuga Island is renowned for its stunning natural beauty with white-sand beaches, crystal-clear waters, and lush vegetation. It's ideal for relaxing, swimming, snorkeling its amazing marine life, and offers optional water sports like jet skiing and kayaking.

The boat ride from Los Sueños Marina, the closest departure point to the wedding area, is typically 45 to 60 minutes. Please note that this is a full-day excursion.

Location

Carara National Park

Approximately a 15-minute drive away from the wedding area, this park is famous for its diverse flora and fauna, including a large population of scarlet macaws. It's a great spot for birdwatching and seeing other wildlife like monkeys, sloths, and coatis. There are accessible walking trails.

The park is open from 7am-4pm every day of the week.

Marino Ballena National Park

This National Park, named "Whale Bay" for its humpback whale migration, protects coral reefs and features the famous "Whale's Tail" sandbar (visible at low tide). It's ideal for whale watching (Dec-Apr & Jul-Oct), snorkeling, and exploring coastal ecosystems, with kayaking, paddleboarding, hiking, and waterfalls also nearby.
